Located in the westernmost part of Antalya, Kaş has a population of 57,123 according to 2017 data and lies approximately 190 km from Antalya city center. The district has a 70 km long coastline along Turkey’s southern shores. Meis (Kastellorizo) Island, situated just across Kaş, offers a spectacular view and makes Kaş a neighbor of Greece.
Covering an area of 2,231 km², Kaş generally enjoys a Mediterranean climate, although higher elevations may experience continental characteristics.
The local economy is mainly based on tourism, particularly hotels and accommodation services. Other important activities include agriculture, greenhouse farming, floriculture, and fishing.

🌊 Kaputaş Beach
One of the most famous beaches in Turkey, Kaputaş Beach is located within the Kalkan area. Nestled between steep cliffs, the beach is renowned for its turquoise waters. Due to freshwater springs beneath the shore, the sea is refreshingly cool. This Blue Flag beach is free to enter and can be reached by descending approximately 200 steps. It welcomes thousands of visitors each year.
🏝️ Patara Beach
One of Patara Beach’s most remarkable features is its sunset, considered among the most beautiful in the world. With its fine sand, dunes, lighthouse, ancient theater, and cinematic landscapes, Patara offers a truly unforgettable experience.
🪨 Big Pebble Beach
Located about 2 km east of Kaş town center, Big Pebble Beach is a peaceful bay covered with pebbles. Its cool waters come from underground springs. Compared to other beaches, it is quieter and features a few pleasant seaside cafés.
🏛️ Antiphellos Ancient City
Named Antiphellos because it was founded opposite Phellos during the Lycian period, this ancient city eventually surpassed its neighbor. The most well-preserved structure is the ancient theater, offering stunning panoramic views of Kaş and Meis Island.
🚤 Kekova Sunken City
Also known as Geyikova, Kekova is located near Demre but is accessible from Kaş. The island covers 4.5 km² and is visited solely for tourism. Earthquakes caused parts of the city to sink underwater, creating a unique scene. Boat tours allow visitors to view submerged ruins and staircases beneath the clear waters. Don’t miss Simena (Kaleköy) Ancient City nearby.
🌿 Hidayet Bay
A hidden paradise of Kaş, Hidayet Bay is an idyllic cove where you can relax under olive trees and swim in crystal-clear deep blue waters. Blanca Beach, established in recent years, provides excellent services. Accommodation options are also available nearby.
🏛️ Patara Ancient City
Located 40 km from Kaş, Patara Ancient City was founded near Gelemiş Village. The 2,000-year-old Patara Lighthouse is considered one of the oldest surviving lighthouses in the world. The ancient city ends at Patara Beach, home to endangered Caretta caretta sea turtles. The 10,000-seat Patara Theater is one of the site’s highlights.
🏞️ Saklıkent Canyon
A protected natural park, Saklıkent Canyon stretches 18 km, with 6 km open to visitors for walking. Safari tours are available for adventure seekers. Entry is via a 100-meter wooden bridge, and restaurants are located at the entrance. Due to uneven terrain, water shoes are recommended, and the canyon is not suitable for elderly visitors or young children.

Located 20 km from Kaş, Kalkan is one of the most popular resorts in the area. Known for its tranquility, natural beauty, and luxurious private villas, it also hosts a significant British community.
